TIVERTON TRUST

Tiverton Land Trust to Serve Local Flavors at Summer Fundraiser

June 14th, 2010 · No Comments

Fresh produce, grass fed beef, and creamy cheeses from local sources are just a few of the goodies guests will enjoy at the Tiverton Land Trust’s annual summer fundraising party. “A Summer’s Eve at Briarhill” is set to take place on the evening of Thursday, July 22. Wilma Bruining of Little Compton based Wilhelmina’s Catering will prepare delicious treats utilizing ingredients from several nearby providers such as potatoes and blueberries from Tiverton’s own Ferolbink Farm. Little Compton grown vegetables and beef will be supplied by Wishing Stone, Walker’s, and Treaty Rock farms. Artisan cheeses from Westport’s Shy Brothers and the Narragansett Creamery will also be served. More local products will be added to the list as the final menu comes together. “I use locally grown and produced ingredients whenever possible, and it seems especially appropriate at an event that benefits an organization dedicated to saving open space where farms can thrive,” commented Ms. Bruining.

The group’s second annual event is being billed as “A lawn party of pastoral elegance featuring delicious food from local farms, refreshing cocktails, and lively auctions.” The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. The advance ticket cost is $75 per person. To reserve at ticket call 625-1300
