RAIMONDO LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE DETAILING VISION FOR TREASURER’S OFFICE

May 24th, 2010 · No Comments

Warwick, R.I. — Gina Raimondo, a Democratic candidate for R.I. General Treasurer, has launched a new innovative Web site at www.ginaraimondo.com that offers Rhode Islanders an in-depth look at her vision for the office of General Treasurer, details her biography and her strong qualifications to do the job, and provides multiple opportunities for users to interact and get involved with her campaign.

“I’m so proud of the site we’ve created,” Raimondo said. “It’s a great vehicle to share my mission and goals, give regular campaign updates and interact with all Rhode Islanders.”

Raimondo offers a detailed vision for the Treasurer’s office, based on her five policy pillars:

•    Ensuring a sustainable retirement system
•    Driving economic development in Rhode Island
•    Fostering financial literacy and empowerment
•    Demanding transparency and performance in government
•    Improving corporate governance through shareholder action

Also on the site are the latest news releases from the campaign, clips of interviews with Raimondo, and her campaign blog, as well as links to her social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube. Much of the site will also be available in Spanish.

The site is highly interactive, encouraging users to get involved and volunteer with the campaign, join Raimondo’s e-mail list, make contributions, add links to their own Facebook page and Twitter account, share content, and register to attend events and host parties.

“I hope all Rhode Islanders will take a look, and learn more about my goal of making the Treasurer’s office one that treats taxpayers like customers who deserve results,” she said.
