DOYLE DAFFODILS

Pawtucket Mayor, James E. Doyle: Daffodil Days Campaign

The American Cancer Society Applauds Pawtucket Mayor, James E. Doyle

Pawtucket Mayor, James E. Doyle received a special visit from Birthdays R. Hope, a life-size Boyd’s™ Bear designed exclusively for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days Campaign.

The American Cancer Society applauds Pawtucket Mayor, James E. Doyle for participation in the Society’s Daffodil Days campaign and for his dedication to help people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against cancer. This is the 10th year the Pawtucket Mayor’s Office has participated in the campaign that raises funds for the Society’s mission of funding lifesaving research, education, patient services, and advocacy.

“Daffodil Days has been a great addition to our community service activities.  It has given us the opportunity to give back to the community and has been a great example of how everyone can get involved in the process of helping others,” said Therese Gorman, Daffodil Days Coordinator at the Mayor’s Office.

The American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days campaign makes a difference in the fight against cancer by providing hope for those facing the disease. Although Daffodil Days involves offering daffodils to donors every spring in appreciation for their contributions, it is about more than just giving beautiful flowers; it is an opportunity to share hope for a world free of cancer.

Additionally, daffodil contributions provide the Society with much-needed dollars to fund groundbreaking cancer research, educate people about the importance of cancer prevention and early detection, and advocate for meaningful public health policies that benefit the community.

For more information about Daffodil Days, to request flowers, or to get involved with the program, contact the American Cancer Society at 1.800.ACS.2345 or www.cancer.org/daffodils.

The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with nearly a century of experience to save lives and end suffering from cancer. As a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.4 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, more than 11 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year. To learn more about us or to get help, call us any time, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
