The Pawtucket Arts Festival (PAF) Executive Committee is seeking proposals from artists, dancers and musicians. The City’s 2009 Arts Festival will be held from August 28- through the month of September, at various locations such as the Visitor Center, State Pier, Slater Mill and Slater Memorial Park. The deadline for applications along with the required supporting materials is April 3, 2009.
PAF’s Program Committee is seeking proposals for all artistic media, including poetry, spoken-word, sculpture, dance, music (classical, rock, folk, blues, salsa, reggae, jazz, etc.), theatre, and film. Proposals for education workshops (glass, wood, ceramics, stone, polymer, fiber, painting and photography) are encouraged and will be also considered. All proposals must include a project description, examples of artists work, time-frame and funding requested. Artist applications may be downloaded by visiting www.pawtucketartsfestival.org. Application specifics must include: cost, scope of work, time-frame, equipment needs, installation and/or stage needs or requirements for sound or lighting.
A completed application with supporting materials such as CD’s, DVDs, newspaper clippings, photographs or other marketing information is required. Incomplete applications will be rejected. All proposals will be reviewed by the Program Committee and will make recommendations to the Executive Committee that will be responsible for the final decision. The PAF has the right to refuse all proposals.
