Eye Vision Productions Presents: 2009 Black History Month Fashion Event “History 401” Fashion Extravaganza

“History 401″ is being presented as a tribute to the many contributions people of color have made in the United States of America. It will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at The Westin Providence, located at One West Exchange Street, Providence, RI 02903 in the Narragansett Room.

“History 401″ will bring forward an understanding of the History of Black-Americans from the West Coast of Africa to the present day and will be emphasized through a spectacular runway interpretation that will bridge Haute Couture with the urban sophisticate. Designs will include world renown designer Karl Kani’s women’s line; Kani Ladies, Haute Couture designs by Chi Chi & Chi Chi E from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island’s own Anico, Illwear Fashion Co., Luga and 2da Hole Sportswear. Additionally models will grace the runway with styles by Brooklyn Country Club, Blanco Blanco, Kids Clothing Company and Student Designers including Danny Annatty Clothing and Nu Companie Clothing,

Taz, Celebrity Supermodel and Video Vixen, will be in attendance as this year’s guest emcee. Runway, Print, and Video model Lorna Litz will grace the runway as this year’s Celebrity Guest Model. Both women have achieved successful careers as Feature Video Models for a number of R&B and Hip Hop artist including Ashanti, Jim Jones and Fat Joe.

In addition, they have acquired individual highlights in such magazines as Smooth Girl, King Magazine, Health and Beauty Magazine, Black Men’s Magazine, etc. Mr. 401/ DJ Rukiz, will be in attendance as this year’s Celebrity Disc Jockey. R&B artists Antonio McLendon and Shawn Lee will perform live on the runway. Guest will also enjoy a tribute to Black- American West African roots with a live performance by the FILIMBO West African Dancers.

This fabulous event will include a door prize and raffles. VIP ticket holders will be invited to mingle with the Eye Vision Productions’ staff and crew, Celebrity Guest, Models, and Event Sponsors at a hors d’oeuvre reception immediately following the show.

Proceeds will benefit area organizations committed to education ‘beyond the classroom’, learning through the arts, ending domestic violence, and rebuilding faith in communities of color.
