Darlington Girls Softball League Announces Registration Info for Season

Pawtucket, RI–Darlington Girls Softball League will be accepting registrations for its Spring season early in 2009 for girls 4 years old to 18 years old (still enrolled as high school students).

Registrations for Instructional League, Juniors Fast Pitch and Seniors Fast Pitch will take place on two Saturdays-January 31^st, and February 14^th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Teresa Church Hall on Newport Avenue. Any new players must present a birth certificate at the signups. Cost is $35 for Instructional League/$55 for two or more players. $60 for Minors (8-10), Majors (11-12) and Seniors (13-18)– $85 Family Maximum.

The tryouts for players moving up to Junior or Senior League and any new players will be March 7^th at the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club.

Are there any more registration dates? My daughters are usually involved with fairlawn, but would like to join darlington.

We missed the sign ups. Is it too late to do so? My daughter played for this league two years ago and would like to start playing again. Please let me know. Thank you.

I played for The Darlington Girls Softball League for 4 years when I was younger. I played 3 to 4 different positions, the most popular one being the consistent catcher for the team named “Pawtucket Credit Union”, better known as “PCU”! My father, Donald Faella, and the father of one of my best friens, Vaughn Kinosian, were our coaches. I’ve recently been watching my 11 year old play and have noticed the tremendous talent which I am so excited to see. She can HIT, THROW, and RUN!!! I’m so excited and so is she. She would like more than ever to join the league. She has many friends as well on a team she says is named the Darlington Dynamites. I personally haven’t heard of it but that is the story. I would greatly appreciate any information you can give me regarding enrollment, season beginning and end dates, and how to go about getting her in and Playing!!!!! I would like to mention as well, that I know just about everything there is to know about baseball AND, having been in the Darlington girls league, know the rules and regulations for this particular league as well. I am very interested in possibly coaching if you have a need in the organization! My daughter’s name is Kylah McKeon and my name is Kristen Faella. My daughter is six trs old> She played tball baseball. I want to start her in softball. I would like to know if I could sign her up for this year. I would need phone where to call. thankl you
