The W.H.O. Foundation is honored to recognize and reward a charity that makes a difference

Woonsocket, RI (Grassroots Newswire) – Haven of Grace Ministries has been selected as one of the W.H.O. (Women Helping Others) Foundation’s “10 of 2010” awardees. These are the 10 non-profit organizations selected to receive W.H.O. grants in 2010. The W.H.O. Foundation is BeautiControl’s charity of choice. 

Haven of Grace Ministries received a grant in the amount of $13,000 to aid the transition of women from shelter to independent living in Rhode Island.

“These non-profits provide life-changing resources,” says Albert Bosch, President of BeautiControl.  “It’s a great way to show the power we all have to make a difference.” 

Director Donna Hackett presented the check to Susan Mansfield of The Haven of Grace Ministries, Inc. in Woonsocket, RI on Friday, January 22nd. Donna had the opportunity to tour their shelter facility and see how the W.H.O. funds are being used to make much-needed renovations. “We have to turn away women every day,” says Susan. “The W.H.O. funds will allow help for more women who are struggling.”As a result of the renovations, the organization will soon have five additional bed spaces to offer homeless women.

The mission of Haven of Grace Ministries is to empower men and women to overcome poverty. The organization provides shelter for 18 homeless women at any time as part of a long-term residential program tailored to help with goal-setting, education and life skills.
