Martin E. Tursky Appointed COO At Memorial Hospital

Pawtucket, RI – Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island announced the appointment of Martin E. Tursky as executive vice president/chief operating officer. He joins Memorial from Aultman Health Foundation in Canton, Ohio where ethical leadership and productivity were hallmarks of his distinguished career. Tursky will be responsible for all operations and financial management of the hospital.

            “We are proud to have Martin join us,” stated Francis R. Dietz, president and CEO of Memorial Hospital. “He brings a wealth of demonstrated experience in strategic planning, operations, project development and fiscal accountability.” He added, “Martin’s stellar record of achievement in a broad range of initiatives underscores his ability to enhance profitability and stimulate growth.”

            Most recently, as Vice President, Chief Information Officer for Aultman Health, he was responsible for a $21 million operating budget and $4 million in capital purchases. Over the past decade, he served in positions of increasing responsibility at Aultman Hospital. His tenure in support services was marked by implementation of a centralized scheduling system for physician offices and an electronic medical record system. Under his leadership, Aultman’s Heart Center expanded services and was recognized as one of the first Certified Chest Pain Centers in the nation. Evaluators of the Ohio Award for Excellence recognized his retooling of the hospital’s strategic planning process as best practice across all industries.

    Martin earned my respect in a very short time. Your community has a great man of INTEGRITY!! His knowledge along with his ethics of doing something right the first time will. With Martin your facility will grow to be a remarkable facility.
