Blackstone Valley Tourism Council Announce 2009 Dragon Boat Race Results

Great Weather Draws Crowd to Rescheduled Tenth Annual Dragon Boat Race & Taiwan Day Festival

PAWTUCKET, RI – Blackstone Valley Tourism Council and Race Coordinators, 22 Dragons announce race results from today’s tenth annual Dragon Boat Races:

Tiger Division: 1st Place EJCA Dragon Smoke, a youth team from East Greenwich 1:16:48 (Best Race Time for the Day) 2nd Place RI Hash House Harriers, 1:22.82 3rd Place Dragon Bottom, 1:25.92

Lion Division: 1st Place DBCB-Paddle for Health 1:19.25 2nd Place Big Perm 1:24.65 22 Dumplings 1:24.80

Dragon Division: 1st Place Liason 1:20.15 2nd Place Harvard Dudley Dragon Boat Club (Boston), 1:20.19 3rd Place The Dirty Oars, 1:25.79

Though there were fewer teams, 13 all together, the great Fall weather drew a good crowd to the tenth annual Dragon Boat Races & Taiwand Day Festival, and everyone enjoyed the days festivities including the colorful kite flying on the School Street Pier.
