Pawtucket: The Pawtucket Riverfront Concert Series brings you Plainfolk “In Concert” on August 2nd at the Veterans Amphitheater located next to Pawtucket City Hall on Roosevelt Avenue, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Plainfolk comes to downtown Pawtucket singing folk songs that tell the stories of New England and well beyond. Thirty years later they are still together writing and recording folk music in a traditional style. During that time they went from the local pubs and clubs to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC and on into cyberspace. That’s a long way. But the instruments are still good; the harmonies still sweet and the voices still honest. Band members include Charlie Ball, Dennis Costello, John Costello, and Barry Sullivan. As ever, it is music for its own sake and it’s still great fun.
Additionally, Arthur Medeiros Swing Band will be performing every Tuesday beginning July 28th through September 1st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Veterans Amphitheater.
In case of inclement weather, call the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center at 401-724-2200 for up-to-date information.
