The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council (BVTC) announces the first annual Broad Street Winter Festival, happening Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Jenks Park, located on Broad Street, next to City Hall, in Central Falls, RI.
This FREE PUBLIC EVENT is a new and exciting ethnic festival celebrating the Holiday Season in the historic Blackstone River Valley, with a special emphasis on multi-cultural diversity.
The festival will feature live performances at two stages, art presentations, an open air market and international food court. There will also be short film presentations from local filmmakers, Santa visit and a candle and lantern celebration. Also featured is a Kids’ Universe where children will be able to star, make and produce their own short films as well as make crafts. This is also a ‘Zero-Waste’ event sponsored by Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful.
There will also be a six-course International Progressive Dinner on Friday, December 5, 2008 which you must reserve tickets from the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council in advance.
The Broad Street Winter Festival is being presented by the BVTC, the City of Pawtucket, the City of Central Falls and the Town of Cumberland, Progresso Latino, the Colombian American Cultural Society and other local businesses.
The Broad Street Winter Festival is part of the Broad Street Regeneration Project, an effort between the BVTC, local municipalities and the business community in ongoing efforts to develop sustainable tourism and economic development and ethnic diversity along the three mile roadway spanning from Downtown Pawtucket northerly to Cumberland in Valley Falls village.
