Providence, RI – The Fund for Community Progress recently recognized Citizens Bank and NBC 10 as outstanding community leaders by presenting them with the Sister Carol McGovern “Voice for the Voiceless” award for the corporations’ Champions in Action Program. Each quarter, the Citizens Bank/ NBC 10 Champions in Action Program selects a different non-profit organization and provides them with $25,000 in unrestricted funds, promotions, volunteers and media coverage. Since launching the program, Citizens has invested more than $700,000 in grants and NBC 10 has provided more than $1.5 million in media coverage to 28 Rhode Island organizations.
