PAWTUCKET, RI (April 28, 2009) – The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) held its seventh annual fundraising party, The Scarlet Affair, on Saturday April 18, netting more than $80,000 (including both cash and in-kind contributions) toward the theater’s artistic and educational programs. The drill hall of the historic Pawtucket Armory, festooned in shades of red and lighted for romance, served as the venue for nearly 200 guests dressed in red and black. Torch singers, crooners, a series of tongue-in-cheek peep shows and veiled dancers provided saucy, sophisticated, nonstop entertainment!
Gamm supporters enjoyed a banquet of antipasti, sautéed vegetables and a variety of hot pasta dishes and desserts, as well as a bar stocked with beer, assorted wines and signature drinks such as the “Scarletini”!
A cluster of computer kiosks provided by Gateway Healthcare provided an extra source of entertainment, as guests were able to bid on a mostly red- and romance-themed auction that started April 1 and closed on April 22, raising almost $10,500.
”The armory has never looked so good and The Gamm has never hosted such a fun-filled, raucous and dazzling party,” said Gamm Artistic Director Tony Estrella. “Many thanks to all who made it possible and contributed so much to sustaining our on- and off-stage work.”
East Coast Lighting & Production Services, Inc. was The Scarlet Affair’s “Platinum Sponsor”. “Gold Sponsors” included NBC 10 and Sovereign Bank. Additional support came from Artinium Inc.; The Providence Phoenix; Troy, Pires & Allen Insurance; 95.5 WBRU; Coastal Extreme Brewing Co.; Hinckley Allen Snyder LLC; PawtucketArmory Center for the Arts; Pawtucket Credit Union; Pranzi Catering and Stirrings.
